Abstract
In recent years, the global automotive industry has faced significant disruption, particularly as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the most critical challenges has been the global semiconductor shortage, which has severely impacted vehicle production and supply chains. Semiconductors, commonly known as chips, are essential components in modern automobiles, supporting functions ranging from vehicle control and infotainment systems to safety features and autonomous driving technologies. The shortage has led to delays in delivering cars to consumers, reduced production capacity, and difficulties in maintaining adequate inventory levels. As a result, many automakers have been forced to slow down or halt production, negatively affecting overall output and profitability.
